Students who major in Human Relations are offered undergraduate courses in order to understand human beings by studying them in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary manner and by positioning them within the context of society and culture.
CURRICULUM
In their second year, undergraduate students who choose to major in Human Relations are required to take Social Psychology, Personality Psychology, Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, and Comparative Study of Religion and Culture from seven full-time instructors.
In their third year, students select one seminar out of the seven offered by each of the instructors and continue their specialized studies for two years.
From their third year, students may also continue to freely attend lectures that are offered both within and outside of their selected course of study. This enables them to focus on their area of interest and also to expand it.
Students must summarize their undergraduate study in a graduation thesis. The department places great emphasis on teaching students to prepare for their graduation theses and provides intensive instruction to fourth-year students on an individual basis. Students are expected to spend considerable time and energy completing their graduation theses, a task requiring motivation, enthusiasm, and patience. The level of work is generally very high and, each year, the department receives a number of outstanding papers.
