BASIC PROGRAM
The Basic Program provides students with a variety of courses, each designed to enable them to develop the study skills and intellectual approach to research that will be necessary throughout their four years of college life.
SUBJECTS AND COURSES IN THE BASIC PROGRAM
Basic Program Subjects only consist of a course in seminar form. The Basic Program seminar is
carried out in a small group and lays stress on having students attain
study skills as well as intensive knowledge. All first year students are
required to attend these seminar classes.
General Subjects are all required courses for students. They include the first foreign
language (English), a second foreign language (French, German, Spanish,
Chinese, or Korean), Christian Studies, and Physical Education and Contemporary
Cultural Studies.
Major Course Subjects are courses from which first-year students can choose according to their interest.
Academic Advisor System
One of the characteristics of the Basic Program is the Academic Advisor System in which all professors at the University are involved. Small groups of first-year students are put under the guidance of an Academic Advisor, so each student is able to get the necessary advice for her studies.
