This course will focus on the close reading and analysis of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park (1813), which sometimes is described as Austen's most controversial novel. The course is designed to clarify underlying paradoxes and complexities in the text.
We will first overview some basics about Mansfield Park and then focus on topics related to significant themes of the novel. The class will be conducted in English.
