This seminar will focus on reading poetry and prose in depth, acquiring presentation skills, and writing about literature.
We will begin by reading poetry in depth, and then we will read some essays by second generation writers and try to listen to their voices. One of the writers we will encounter in the second semester is Amy Tan.
Reading materials to be supplied as handouts.
Reference books will be introduced in class.
Assigned readings must be completed before each class. Acive participation in discussion is essential.
