Nabokov is unique as a multilingual writer who switched from Russian to English in mid-career. We will read his novels in cultural transition to seek his solutions to the problems of identity and cultural transformation.
Lectures will be followed by presentations by students and discussions. A paper will be required at the end of the course.

The class will be conducted mostly in English. Active participation in discussions is encouraged.
Evaluation will be based on the quality of the student's presentation, participation in discussions and paper.
